Talking, Dress Up & Anger Issues

It is 9:15pm, and Vivian is in her crib, wide awake, and just blabbering on and on to herself. Her intonations are hilarious! It is just like she is having a conversation, but only she knows what she is saying!

She got very angry tonite b/c I took away the maracas she was wielding. She loves to carry them around and shake them, they are one of her favorite toys. However, she also likes to hit Sophie, me or any furniture she can reach with them, including the floor and glass doors. When I tell her "no" and take something away from her, she becomes enraged, acting very much like Jerri Blank.
She sits down and kicks her feet out in front of her, rubs her hands together like she is wiping something from them, makes a mad face, shrieks and grabs the first thing she can find and throws it!

She is becoming obsessed with shoes right now. She has been bringing me Sophie's new cowboy boots and wanting me to put them on her. She brought me the golden shoes of Grandma Cindy's from Sophie's dress up basket and wanted to wear those yesterday. She is also now showing interest in wearing Sophie's tiaras and fairy costumes.

She also has a new dance - she stands in one place and marches, knees high, stomping up a storm when the Sit N Spin music comes on.

I put the first ever pig tails in Vivian's hair on Monday, July 2. It was SO CUTE!!!!
She threw up Monday evening, as I was just getting home from my meeting. She then threw up again Wed night. She is acting totally fine so I do not know what this is about. I have not given her any milk today - only watered down apple juice. No throw up yet.

Today, she was finished eating and wanted out of her high chair. She was waving her hands at me (her signal for me to pick her up). I picked up her bottle off the floor and offered it to her, and she vigorously shook her head back and forth! It was funny. I had not seen her say "no" like that before.

Eating with a fork

Daddy was very impressed today when he saw Vivian eating her fruit and chicken for dinner with a fork! The cheap, bendy plastic kind work really well b/c the points are very sharp and she can pick up the food pretty well that way.

Her motor skills seemed a bit advanced to me, as she likes to play with TinkerToys, putting the sticks in the holes, and can also stab food to pick it up with her fork.

She gets VERY excited when Daddy comes home from work, demanding him to pick her up and giving him open mouth kisses!

She also loves to be chased.

Rash

I think Vivian has an allergy to processed meats. I fed her and Sophie some Jennie-O turkey bacon today *NOTE this is not the nitrate-free kind from Trader Joe's.. . .
Anyhow, shortly after she woofed it down, it came back up, right when I was trying to take a picture of the two of them in their matching "My Dad Rocks" t-shirts. . .
It was lovely cleaning it up.

Then she started breaking out in red rashy bumps all over her chest and tummy. At first, the bumps looked like little raised pimples, like the kind she and Sophie get if I put unwashed new clothes on them. We gave her some Benedryl, but it did not help. Then she was acting fussy, fussy, fussy - crying if I left her sight or put her down. By the time she got her bath, the rash was even worse. If she still has it in the morning, I'll call the doctor.

The last time she's thrown up it has been over meat - not freshly cooked, unprocessed meat, but chicken sausage, deli ham or bacon.

Shiny Fly

Today is Sat, but this Tues, Vivian came to the table where I was sitting, and began whimpering to be picked up, as she normally does whenever I am trying to eat.
Immediately I smelled something very bad, and took her to change the diaper. Except there was nothing in the diaper. ????
I smelled her face, and hands and the "smell" was emanating from there. It was so gross.
I then checked the bathrooms, thinking she had gotten to an unflushed toilet, but both doors were closed. (We have to keep her out of the bathrooms b/c the toilet is a favorite place to play in the water)
Since I could not find the source of the smell, I wiped her down with wipes and then antibacterial cleanser and continued on with the day.
When I went to the table to sit back down, a little black rat poop looking thing on the floor caught my eye. I got a paper towel, picked it up and it was a green, shiny fly without wings. I suppose in the handling of it, the wings had been amputated!
When I held it to my nose to get a positive smell ID, I just about fell over! It smelled like a dead landfill.
I wanted to call the dr immediately! But of course the offices close between 12-2 and it was about 12:30pm.
Upon calling Daddy, he suggested I make some very strong lemonade out of fresh lemons since lemon juice kills anything.

The next day, Vivian came down with fever and vomited. That was Wed. On Thurs, she had diarrhea and fever and Thurs night, her fever was 104.3!!!! Fri a visit to the dr confirmed she was getting over it, her temp was only 99.3 and today, Sat she is back to her normal self.
