Eyelashes

Her umbilical stump came off last Sat, June 17, the day before Father's Day.
Her eyelashes are starting to curl out, instead of in toward her eyes and she's staying awake for longer and longer periods of time during the day.

Today, I ended up swaddling her tight to get her to go to sleep, finally! She kept falling asleep while nursing, but the minute I put her down, she would startle herself, then wake up.

Baby acne

Now that Vivian is 2 weeks old, she is getting a touch of the baby acne, just like Sophie got at the same age. She has a few little spots, especially around her eyelids.

You can tell that her eyes are getting sharper, because she seems to focus more on things, especially our faces, which is really exciting. Sophie laughs and says, "Baby's lookeen at me!"

Big Sister

On our first trip out to the store last week, Sophie felt compelled to tell Vivian about the world. As we were driving down the road, she was saying to Vivian, "Hey! Lookee there, Baby Vivian, it's a tree!"

Sophie can not keep her hands and especially her lips off of the baby. She loves to kiss her. She says, several times a day, "I wanna kisser! I wanna tutcher! OH, she so cute!"

Sophie has also learned the word "family" and when we are all sitting on the couch, she proclaims, "We're a tamaleee!"

2 weeks old

At Vivian's 2 week appt today, we learned that she has gained back ALL of the weight she lost her first 3 nights (12 oz) plus another 6 oz! We were thrilled. She now weighs 7lb, 12 oz. She was 7lb, 6oz at birth. She has also already gained another 3/4 in height.

I have way more milk this time around. Her face is filling out nicely and she gets cuter each day.
